Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins (born in Mexico) is a Mexican American sportscaster. She hosts SportsNation and is an anchor for SportsCenter anchor. Since 2016, Collins has was a part of ESPN. Her mother is the reporter for television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is native to two languages. Since she was nine years old, her ability to converse in two languages allowed her to get the job she wanted in Miami as an assistant production at Univision. In this role she was given the chance to collaborate with national program producers like Nuestra Belleza Latina. Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Following this it was announced that the CBS affiliate in St. Petersburg employed her as a sport reporter. In 2009, she moved from Texas to Rio Grande Valley where she was a news reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision. She covered stories about the issue of immigration and trafficking drugs in both Texas and Mexico. Also, she was often requested to serve as anchors for the weather and sports. She then anchored and reported at Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was given more responsibilities. She also did segments on Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and the NBA Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. In addition, she hosted her own local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She was promoted to anchoring sports for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. She held the same position as a sports anchor for Primer Impacto magazine and Contacto Deportivo for the UniMas Network. Antonietta's parents come from Veracruz Mexico. They moved at some point in Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born in November of 1985. There is an older sister. In 1992 her family left Mexico and relocated to Miami. Within a brief time her father split from her mother. She later remarried in the year 1995 to a naval architect called Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died of kidney cancer in 2006. In the summer in 2006 she took one week with her sibling in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl worked at the time. Antonietta had just graduated high school but already knew her plans for what she would do. She loved the campus. It also gave her the major that she desired. Her studies were completed and she was accepted to the University with a degree studying media and communication studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor - was also the manager at WRMU (91.1 FM), where she belonged. The professor encouraged her to believe in herself and was greatly moved by his love of journalism.
